The Moulin Rouge (red mill) is a traditional cabaret located in the red light arrondissement of Pigalle more exactly in Boulevard de Clichy near Montmartre in Paris.
It was built in 1889 by Joseph Oller. It is famous for its imitation of a wind will of a big size and a red colour. This place is a symbol of the French culture and also has an important historical background.
The Moulin Rouge offers musical and dance shows for adult people. It is visited every year by tourists. Many night clubs around the world imitate this but no one could ever be similar to.
The place was a theme in many paints. It is the title of a book from Pierre la Mure and was also the basis for the movie filmed in 1952 with the same title.
