Disneyland Resort Paris was created to attract the European market but without making the same mistakes the Tokyo Park done. Many visits were realized by the company executives to find the proper location. Initially they thought about the Spanish Mediterranean shore but apparently the government couldn’t find the right place. However there are rumours that the ETA threatened the government with terrorist attacks if they consider the option.
Finally France was chosen due to their location (almost in the centre of Europe) and its excellent mean of transport.

The park had a hard time when it opened. It went through an economic crisis and difficulties due to the lack of knowledge concerning the electronic installations. In order to overcome the crisis they decided to change the name for the popular Disneyland, diminish the price of the tickets and add a new attraction (The Space Mountain).

The main park is called Disneyland Park and it is made up of five zones. Main Street, USA is the imitation of a North American street by the XX century. This is the main street that ends in the castle and the centre of the recint.

Houses are made of wood with big posters, shops and restaurants. At the beginning of the street you will find the main stop of the steam train that travels around the park. The popular Disney characters are all over the park ready to be photographed. Old cars and trains pass along this street and visitors are allowed to take them for a ride. Next to it you will find Fantasyland, Discoveryland, Frontierland (a zone set as the Far West) and Adventureland.
Walt Disney Studios was later added to the park. There movies are directed and you will discover little secrets about these masterpieces.

Dedicated mainly to the magic of cinema, Walt Disney Studios was opened the 15thy of March of 2002. Disney Village zones, the restaurant and leisure time area, was added too. There are shops, bars, clubs, discos and thematic restaurants. There are also live concerts, cinemas, artists and rides available along the Disney Lake. The zone is very interest and free ticket. It is open every day and some parts till late night.
There are many hotels were you can stay to enjoy the magic of Disney characters. The main hotel is Disneyland Hotel, located at the entry of the main park, elegant as the old palaces. Another one is the Disney’s Hotel New York; this is the one with the New Yorker look. Right after this one you will find Disney’s Newport Bay Club, with the looks of a New England mansion. Then you will find Disney’s Sequoia Lodge that will transport you to a rocky mountain scenery surrounded by Sequoia trees. The following is the DISNEY’S Hotel Cheyenne with streets that represent the far west populated. Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe imitated Mexican villages. Finally, a little bit far from the park the Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch is a ranch decorated as the cheaters land.
