Centro Pompidou

Its name is “Centre National d Art de Cultura Georges Pompidou” known as Pompidou Centre is the most important cultural centre of the world.
The Centre was designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano. The design of the Centre "turned the architecture world upside down”. The centre exposes its skeleton of brightly colored tubes for mechanical systems.

 

After renovation work in the 90s, it opened to the public again with expanded museum space, a cinema and performance halls, a music research institute, a CD and video centre, theatre saloons and a restaurant.

The Place Georges Pompidou in front of the museum is noted for the presence of street performers, such as mimes and jugglers.
